The actress also opened up to Il guardiano about how she learned of Boseman’s death, noting that she woke up in her apartment and found an email saying “my condolences,” which surprised her. “ero come, ‘My condolences for what?’ ”

After attempting to reach out to Boseman, she found herself unsuccessful and turned to her other Pantera nera co-protagonista, Daniel Kaluuya, to find out the truth.

“ero come, ‘Bro you have five seconds to tell me this is not true? This is horrible. What’s going on?’ And there was this dead silence,” Wright recalled. “ero come, ‘I think this is true, but I’m just asking you to tell me that it’s not.’ And he didn’t.”

She then said that Kaluuya, 33, eventually broke the news to her after she told him she had been trying to contact Boseman.
